The big bike race every spring in Philadelphia reaches its climax on the infamous "wall" of Manayunk; there is always a big crowd in front of "O'Brien's water-hole" to watch the cyclists as they strain to surmount the steepest part of the course. It has become one of the classic tableaus of local sporting history.
